Friends of a Llanelli man are taking part in a charity ride named ‘Andy Beynon’s Ty Hafan Charity Rideout’ - the cause he was planning to help himself before he passed away.
It is being organised by Richard John, Stu Collins, Dave Jones and Wynne Jenkins.
Mr Beynon was an enthusiastic biker, who used his time to help others - whether it was improving rider’s skills as an observer, or supporting the NHS or protecting cyclists during road races.
He was a serving member of Blood Bikes, IAM, RoSPA and NEG Wales, and had worked with children with special needs, while teaching others to ride before he died.
Testament to his popularity, hundreds of motorbikes turned out to pay tribute to him on the day of his funeral, making their way through the streets of Llanelli.
The event is taking place on Sunday September 11 and the meeting point will be M&P Motorcycles in Gorseinon at 8am with the ride beginning at 9am. The route will take bikers towards Swansea West Services on the M4, collecting other groups en route, and then on to Ty Hafan.
They will then make their way to Owls Nest Tea Room Diner in Llandovery for food and drinks, and also for a raffle to take place.
Everyone is welcome to take part if they have at least a 125cc bike and all donations will be presented to Ty Hafan on behalf of Andy and his family.
Ty Hafan is one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities and offers care to children and support for their families, throughout Wales.
