Volunteers are being sought to help Blood Bikes Wales offer a new service to the NHS in Powys - could you help?
A number of roles are available and you don't necessarily need to be a biker to offer your services; controllers to take the calls from the NHS, fundraisers and promotional volunteers are all needed. They don't expect any sort of minimum commitment so even if it's just an hour or two you can offer, any help is appreciated.
Blood Bikes Wales do a fantastic job providing the NHS with out-of-hours transport of blood supplies, plasma, documents and other items between hospitals saving substantial sums which can be used for front-line patient care. There are already groups throughout the country and this new service ensures that the whole of Wales is covered.
The service is free of charge and operates between 7pm on Friday evening until midnight on Monday morning including bank holidays - even Christmas Day!
An engagement day has been arranged on 19th January at Llandrindod Wells Fire Station, starting at 11am. However, if you're unable to attend but would still like to help, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0300 303 3352.
