Great route, I rode it last weekend on my VFR800. Really good vision on this route with ample opportunity to overtake. But go steady on the tighter bends as there are some big drops and you don’t want to get caught out. This route demands respect!

Beautiful scenery means it’s appealing to the tourists so a weekday ride, outside of school holidays is recommended if you’re free. Sweeping bends makes this a terrific ride, especially going towards Trawsfynydd.

Watch out for the hairpin at the end of the lake and the sheer drops! Busy at weekends and in the height of summer. Go at your own pace if riding with a group, there’s no need to keep up, just enjoy the experience.
