This route climbs all the way from the beautiful market town of Conwy to Blaenau Ffestiniog in the infamous slate quarry region of Snowdonia. Travelling adjacent to the River Conwy until you reach Betws-y-Coed, this road provides breathtaking views which you never tire of.  As you reach the junction for the A5, remember to turn back on to the A470 and follow the Afon Lledr and on to Blaenau Ffestiniog - as soon a you start seeing slate you know you're nearly there!
